TED is a global community, welcoming people from every discipline and culture who seek a deeper understanding of the world. We believe passionately in the power of ideas to change attitudes, lives and, ultimately, the world. At www.ted.com we're building a clearinghouse of free knowledge from the world's most inspired thinkers—and a community of curious souls to engage with ideas and each other, both online and at TED and TEDx events around the world, all year long. TED is owned by a nonprofit, nonpartisan foundation. Our agenda is to make great ideas accessible and spark conversation.
About TED, TEDx and TEDxBEARCREEKPARK 2020
- What is TED?
- What is TEDx?
To build on this mission, and, in the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx to bring the spirit of TED to local communities around the globe. These events are independently organized by passionate individuals who seek to uncover new ideas and the latest research in their local areas and spark conversations in their communities.
- What’s the history of TEDxBearCreekPark?
TEDxBearCreekPark 2020 established itself as the premier TEDx event in BC. It was a full day of inspiration, entertainment, and live music with an in-house audience of over 900 and continues to reach hundreds of thousands globally.
Our event featured an eclectic mix (14 inspiring talks and 18 performances in total) featuring "ideas worth spreading" across six areas of Human Endeavor (Science, Technology; Art, Design, and Entertainment; Human Rights, Law, and Business; Current Affairs-topical issues; Personal Growth and Development) designed to inspire your hearts and minds. Throughout the day, four Energizers kept everyone laughing and moving.
TEDxBearCreekPark 2021 spins off 2020's great success. It will be a live event with an online viewing audience. Final program is still under development.
- What’s the theme for TEDxBearCreekPark?
Our theme is “A Shift in Thinking”.
New perspectives and attitudes drive change. All it takes is a shift in thinking to connect diverse cultures, industries, and backgrounds, unlocking unparalleled growth and prosperity. Our times are teaching us - one is too small a number to accomplish anything of significance. Together, we are stronger and better braced and equipped to make the changes our world demands.
- When and where is TEDxBearCreekPark 2021 being held?
Presenters will deliver their live performances from the magnificent Bell Performance Arts Centre on Tuesday, April 6, 2021. Due to expected COVID-19 restrictions, attendees will view this event online only.
